Ningbo comes closer and closer to Broadway. Yesterday, the newly-established Beijing Oriental Broadway International Theatre Management Company (BOBITMC) officially signed contract with Ningbo Grand Theatre, signaling its formal entry into Broadway China Network.
Hereafter, Ningbo audiences may have many opportunities to enjoy Broadway musicals. It is known that 42nd Street, the first Broadway musical introduced to Ningbo after the network is established and one of the most typical American musicals, will be on in Ningbo Grand Theatre for 5-8 times during a week in October. Since the cost is decreased after joining the network, Broadway musicals are no longer luxuries.
Yesterday, Ningbo Grand Theatre concluded a 10-year cooperation agreement with Broadway China Network, during which the theatre would jointly deal with ticket marketing with Nederlander New Century Broadway China Network, and introduce the world-famous ¡°Ticketmaster¡± ticketing system into the theatre for the first time. After cooperating with Ticketmaster, the local ticketing system of Ningbo Grand Theatre will evolve into an international ticket network. What¡¯s more important, the theatre will learn from top-notch operational concepts in the world by joining in the network, such as well-knit market survey and analysis into list of plays, etc.
Since Nederlander New Century Broadway often donate some of the performing income to local teenagers, to continue this good tradition, Ningbo Grand Theatre will withdraw RMB 1 from each ticket of the musicals imported in conjunction with Broadway China Network and donated the money to China Song Ching Ling Foundation, for the purpose of cultivating Chinese teenagers with music talents, and holding such cultural activities as Sino-US Musical Summer Camp in due time.
